Location- is it conveniently located? Close to a highway? IS there accommodation nearby for out of town guests?

Image- How does it look from the outside? From the inside? Is it old? Does it fit my theme? (Classy, funky, ocean view)

Once you are impressed with these factors you can begin asking the important questions. When planning your wedding you often create a theme that you wish to follow. With this theme in mind you must begin to in vision it fitting into your venue. You begin to consider such things as the menu, the bar, and the service. It is important to have the opportunity to taste the food beforehand. Sit with the venue coordinator and let them know what you are looking for, they will work around what your needs are. Price negotiations can take place once you have described your needs.

Your wedding dress is another important factor. You can go into a store with an idea in mind, or with no idea. If you are unsure of what you are looking for you can try on several dresses and find a style that suits you. Never settle on the first dress you see, continue to shop to give yourself options for the perfect dress.

Videography/Photography- as with your wedding dress, your videographer and photographer are also important to book in advance, as you need to be sure you find exactly what you are looking for as far as styles. Sit with different companies and see which style best suits your needs or your budget. From there you can continue to build a comfortable relationship with your photographer and videographer in order to make your wedding day photos and video as perfect as they can be.

Flowers/decor - Picking the right florist/decorator is important for your wedding as the flowers and décor is what will stand out as soon as people walk into your venue. Be sure to look carefully through the portfolios of previous wedding planning events as well ask to see some samples of products if there is any available in the shop. Be sure to keep your theme in mind when picking flowers and décor. It is important to ask your florist what flowers are in season for your wedding, as you do not want your flowers to wilt before the night is over. Often, you will have to make exceptions to certain flowers if the one you prefer is not in season. You must also consider that when a flower is not in season, to bring it in from somewhere else will be much more costly. To be efficient in your choice for flowers, stick to in season flowers.

With your decor company, be sure that they have the wedding planning experience you are looking for. Submit an image to them and allow them to draw out ideas for you to choose from. Find out if they have the equipment or they have to rent it. Often this will become more costly for you.

Some other important factors when planning a wedding are invitations, bonboniers, centerpieces, place cards, entertainment, transportation and accommodation. Overall it is a wonderful experience that truly pays off on your wedding day.
